Shipping Methods that Work.

4D has a proven method for shipping tools safely to the client. We use padded envelopes in addition to the mailer when we ship orders to clients.  None of the shipping providers are gentle with packages.  So, this ensures the tools make the trip all the way to the intended destination.

It is super rare for tools to go missing on their way to the rental client because of shipping material failure.  On the contrary, when tools are returned without the double layer of envelopes, tools frequently tear through the single layer and are lost, causing huge expense for both 4D and the client. Tools are just a projectile waiting for inertial forces to launch them.

You may have noticed that we use colored plastic storage tubes for our tools. They are coded in house = Black are headspace gauges, Red are live pilot reamers, and Blue are solid pilot reamers. These tubes keep the tools from banging into one another, be sure to return the tools the same way.

Headspace gauges are precision tools.  For this reason, when we ship them for rentals there is a nylon spacer between the two gauges in the plastic storage tube. It may seem like overkill, but remember the tools have to survive going through the shipping system twice for every rental, first, on the way to the client and second, on the way back to 4D.
