4D Reamer Rentals proudly sells drop-in barrels for Savage actions.
Savage offers two barrel thread diameters so you must indicate the diameter of your threads (explanation of how to determine barrel diameter located below under “Barrel Shanks”).
Each barrel is threaded for your receiver, crowned with an 11º target crown, unless otherwise specified and fully chambered (any chamber reamer we have). If your not sure what taper we suggest you select one of the Savage factory contours so that it will fit your existing factory stock.
These barrels are custom manufactured for 4D by various barrel makers, including Green Mountain, X-Caliber and McGowen. Details of your order will determine the barrel maker used.

Standard barrel shank diameter on 06 class and belted style cartridges are 1.055″ x 20tpi.
When Savage started offering rifles in the Winchester Short Magnum (WSM) and Remington Ultra Magnum (RUM) calibers, there was a change made to the barrel shank diameter. On the new WSM, RUM, and RSAUM calibers it is 1.120″ x 20tpi. The barrel nut is also bigger in internal size, but is the same outer diameter and our rental barrel nut wrench will still fit.
However, there were very few WSM and RUM rifles made on the standard barrel shank during the first production run. To be certain, measure the barrel shank right against the nut. The larger barrel shank will have a step down approximately 1/8″ ahead of the barrel nut. If your rifle has a serial number with a “G” prefix, it is most probable it will have the larger shank.
